Community

Our commitment

We’re committed to keeping our neighbours, local community, and key stakeholders informed and involved as we progress through the early feasibility and planning application for the BESS.

Neighbours within 2.5km of the site will be consulted as a priority, as well as the wider Darlington community.  We want to know what they support, any concerns they have, and ideas for improving the project.

We’ll be meeting directly with neighbours and the community to provide detailed information and receive feedback – helping shape the concept plan as we go.

Community engagement is led by planning specialists Cogency, working closely with the Jamieson family to develop and deliver the project in a way that benefits the local community.

Supporting our community

We are proud to be part of the local community and want to make a real, lasting difference here.

Our benefit sharing approach will be collaborative, practical, and tailored to the needs and priorities of the people who live and work in this region.

As the project develops, the Jamieson family and our team will continue to actively engage with Moyne Shire Council, local residents, community groups, and the Eastern Maar to explore opportunities that bring genuine local benefits.

Have an idea or project you’d like to see supported? We’d love to hear from you.

Community Drop-In Session

The project team sought to meet with neighbours of the Murchs Corner BESS, as well as local residents and interested groups to introduce the proposal and receive preliminary feedback.

The Drop-In Session presented an opportunity to make initial comments and have those considered in the planning application, which is currently under development.

When the application is lodged with the Department of Transport and Planning, you will have the opportunity to formally make a submission and have the State Government consider this when making their decision.

We expect to submit the planning application in late 2025/ early 2026, and will notify the community when this has happened.

Time: 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Location: Darlington Hall

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Cogency.
